An Afghan journalist was found beheaded late Tuesday in Urgun area of Paktika province in volatile East of Afghanistan.
The journalist, who is identified as Salim Khan Bahadurzai was a native of Paktika province and worked for a local FM Radio Station called Melma (Meaning Guest in Pashtu).
The motive behind this murder case is not yet known nor has any group or individual taken responsibility of Salim’s murder.
Police Chief of Paktika confirms the incident and says investigations are launched to determine further facts.
Paktika province is crowded with presence of Haqqani network terrorists as well as the Taliban insurgents.
In the same day, two foreign journalists Marie Colvin and Remi Ochlik lost their lives in Bab Amr in the Syrian city of Homs during a shelling wave by Assad’s regime.
February 22 is a sad and black day for journalists all around the world for losing 3 colleagues in Afghanistan and in Syria.
